Janey Warren has just graduated from high school and has taken a job teaching school far from home. Enthusiastic, yet homesick, she looks forward to the end of the school year. One bright spot in her life is the preaching in her schoolhouse by Elder Clayton, a missionary of the RLDS Church. The gospel is so inviting, but can Janey give up her friends and family to join an unpopular church?

At home her family has become close friends with a new family, the Claytons, who believe in a strange book called the Book of Mormon. How can they ever tell Janey that they are interested in this new gospel?
